Ackroyd (British, 1938 - )
One of Britain's most famous contemporary
printmakers, Norman Ackroyd studied at Leeds College of Art
(1956-1961) and at the Royal College of Art (1961-1964). Since
that time his art has been widely exhibited throughout the world.
Some of the many museums which include his original prints in
their permanent collections are, the British Museum, the Tate
Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, The National
Gallery of Art, Washington, the Art Institute of Chicago, the
Museum of Modern Art, New York, the National Gallery of Canada,
Ottawa, the Albertina Museum, Vienna, and the Rijks museum,
Amsterdam.
Norman Ackroyd currently lives and works in London. He was
elected an Associate of the Royal Academy in 1989 and a full
Academician in 1991.
