Another aspect of the late Futurist sculptures' aims. Whatever space Cavaliere moves into, it creates its own environment and atmosphere. It has odd planes unique to Barret's work whereby the curves are formalized by a four square definition giving sharp edges on four sides of every curve. It lends itself partially to baroque art's association in that complicity. The surface of Cavaliere is a very smooth soft satin touch with a patina color of deep charcoal grey almost black. |
