| Kathe Berl, American
Kathe Berl achieves depth on a flat plane. Her "Fireworks" are circles of pierced metal placed over a tinted mirror. Color scintillates from the enameled metal and reflective "sparks" exploding through the holes. The relief with "Jugglers" has a humorous bent. Three figures are tossing balls, balancing plates or catching rings, while dancing and doing handstands. Ms. Berl also created the tallest work on exhibit: "Big City," a montage of impressionistic views that stands seven feet tall.
