| Regis de Bouvier de Cachard, French (1929 - )
For an old expert like me there is no secret or mystery, in art, the plotters and opportunists are quickly exposed. All those soulless dabblers of fields of lavender or poppies lacking movement, colour and form, or those daubers of emotionless womens bodies, are « alas » more numerous every year !
Standing aloof from mode and facility, in this marvellous region of Jean Giono and my childhood, Regis Bouvier de Cachard affirms all the dynamic facets of his talent. In each of his “oeuvres” he strives t.o confer a sense of design, the expression of his thoughts, the cry of an emotion, a symbol to discover, and all of this in compliance with the rules of harmony of the ‘Old Masters’.
It is because of his skillful artistry and his boldness in presenting, without abdication or concession, his dreams or his nightmares that Régis Bouvier de Cachard is an artist who merits the greatest respect and an artistic posterity.
