Alix Calixtes

Alix-George Calixtes was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 1943. He was encouraged to paint and influenced by the legendary Haitian artist Gesner Abellard. He is best known for works titled "Birds". His works were prominently featured in many exhibitions both in Haiti and abroad. He is listed in the books "Haitian Art in the Diaspora", "Haitian Painting Art and Kitsch" by Eva Pataki and Haitian Artist in America by P. Piard, S. Denis, E, Dostaly, Patrick Wah.
