Console
The art of Carmen Console is
as expressive of today, as apple pie was once expressive of
the past. The imagery is easy, slick and neatly packaged, as
superficial and plastic as so much American produces.
Carmen Console is a media art. An art taken
from the austere institution and made available to an America
hungry for imagery that is accessible.
The new media art is not endorsed by the intelligentsia
- so much the better. The appeal of it's vision lies not in
its intellectuality, but in it's eclecticism, fun, availability
and fresh paint of now.
"Carmen Console Jr. was born in Philly 50 years ago started drawing
as soon as I could hold a pencil. Attended art school in the
70's and began my professional career as a freelancer right after
I finished, and never looked back.I did air brush illustration
at first.After a while I began using a Mac computer,now all my
work is created that way.I completed thousands of assignments
over the years.I now have a young daughter in design school at
Drexel University she seems to have a promising future as a fashion
designer."
