Dembeck is an artist and a writer, a widow who says she has lately come to treasure her solitary life. Dembeck worked as a technical illustrator for Simplicity Patterns, taught school for five years, married ("happily") and raised two children: Christine Elizabeth and John Francis ("Chip").
Dembeck lives now live in Westport, Ct., where she paints and writes. Her book of children's poetry Moonsnacks and Assorted Nuts was published in 1994.
One of her paintings has been accepted at The National Academy of Design in New York. She continues to exhibit in local shows and illustrate my own children's stories, and listens to NPR on member station WNYC.
