Earle (1916 - 2000)
A designer, painter and illustrator,
Eyvind Earle is noted for the backgrounds he created for Disney
classic films such as "Sleeping Beauty" and "Lady
and the Tramp." He also designed popular greeting cards.
In 1961, he established his own animation company and continuously
painted landscapes in oil and acrylic.
He was born in Northridge, California and studied at the Art
Center School in Los Angeles with Lorser Feitelsen and Ferdinand
Earle, his father.
He was an eclectic painter and free spirit who traveled in
the 1930s to Mexico and toured the United States by bicycle.
During World War II, he was a conscientious objector.
