Born in Paris in 1940, Jean-Claude Farhi ever since the age of 16 feels the need to express his creativity. Meeting his friend the painter Antonio Ascona in 1956 is capital and marks a turning point in his life. Farhi undertakes in 1957 art classes in the "Beaux-arts de Nice". The extraordinary journey of this artist has brought him to know characters from the artistic scene such as Pierre Restany, Iris Clert, César, Arman and many others.
Farhi has managed to use various types of material for his sculptures and oversize columns; Plexiglass (since 1969), crude steel (since 1991) while keeping his unique style characterized by variable geometric forms, colours often very bright and contrasted.
Today Farhi continues his creation of a monumental series of metal sculptures. He often travels between France and New York. The majority of his works are intended for European and American private collections
