About the Work:
Like intelligence, Rachel Gareau’s paintings are wearing seven league boots. They transport us to the moment where everything began, to that inconceivable moment where substance set this difficult, chaotic, universe in motion. We experience the metaphysical destiny of her reds, her soft, shuddering ochres.
Subconsciously, Gareau’s colors, their density and their brightness, bring us back to our first love of the substance for the sake of substance, to which we owe life itself.
