Graduated in Architecture in 1983 from the State Polytechnic of California at San Luis Obispo after attending her final year of studies at their campus in Florence. A designer and architect, she now lives and works in Milan and San Francisco.
She began working for Ettore Sottsass in 1985, subsequently becoming a partner. In addition to her work in architectural design she has produced limited editions of lighting and furniture for various galleries in Europe and the United States, such as the Gallery Mourmans in Belgium and the Design Gallery in Milan.
In 2001 she opened a studio of her own, operating in both Milan and San Francisco. She is currently working on interior design projects in Italy and the United States and on new collections for design galleries. She also works with a selected group of companies such as Flos, Boffi, and Salviati.
Her more recent commissions have included a permanent installation of outside lighting at the Museo di Arte Contemporanea of Syracuse, created by the Galleria Roberto Giustini of Rome.
She has held lectures and conferences in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
