| Jean Wells Hamerslag (1949 - )
Jean incorporates her passion for mosaic design in her sculptures. She successfully creates art that is appealing to the eye and yet presents a commentary on the blending of two art forms. The effectiveness of her art is not just a consequence of her skill with design and color, but also a result of her ability to make the ordinary extraordinarily.
Jean’s art is eccentric and at the same time relevant. As a representative for the Post Pop Art movement, Jean has taken the mundane and given our generation an opportunity to view consumerism through her expressive, one-of-a-kind pieces. With her unique style, she creates mostly larger than life sculptures with a humorous, light-hearted spin.
