Thomas F. Meehan, American (1923 - )

Born : Philadelphia, PA

Occupation : Painter / Photographer / Artist

A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he won a Cresson Traveling Scholarship, Thomas Meehan has been been represented in several exhibitions, locally and in New York and Washington. 

Meehan has taught at the Philadelphia Museum School of Art, PAFA's summer school, and the Moore Institute of Art, Science and Industry.  He taught adult painting classes at the Settlement Music School.

In addition to painting and teaching, Meehan prepares audio-visual presentations.  He originated and developed a tape-recorded interview technique in conjunction with exhibitions of paintings which enables the artist to explain his work. One of the "Voice of the Artist" programs was previewed at the Eastern Arts Association Convention at Atlantic City.
