Shimon Mizrahy, Israeli (1960 - )
Shimon Mizrahy was born in 1960. He grew up and was educated in Tel Aviv. Since childhood, Shimon Mizrahy used to take photographs, using photography to convey his sensibility and express things that severe dyslexia prevented him from putting in writing.
Shimon graduated from the Department of Humanities at Tel Aviv University. He studies photography in various classes and workshops in Israel, New York and London.
Mizrahy participated in group exhibitions in Israel and abroad. His first solo exhibition was held in 2000 at the Wigmore hall in London. In 2004 he exhibited for the first time at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. (Curator – Mordechai Omer). This exhibition led to a collaboration with the painter Rona Boyarski, and in 2005 they had a joint exhibition at the Shorashim Gallery in Tel Aviv. (Curator – Miri Krymolowski).
Works by Shimon Mizrahy are presented in various collections in Israel and abroad.
