Remy Paillan (Haitian, (1956 - )

Remy Paillan (also spelled 'Paillant') is a Haitian painter and artist who was born in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti, in 1956. He started painting seriously in 1971, and was already selling his art by the age of 17.

His faine, natural talent was later redirected and now does mostly decorative works, in the mannerof the semi-fantastiques. These later pieces are far more technically accomplished, altghough they may not possess as much of the innocent exoticism found in his earliest paintings.
