Gilmer Petroff, American (1913 - 1990)

Gilmer Petroff

Born at Saranac Lake, NY on March 13, 1913. Petroff studied at Yale University and University of Wisconsin. He was a resident of San Diego in 1936 and then settled in NYC. He was an art instructor at the Saranac Lake Art League and painted the mural at the Hotel Saranac in the former bar (now the St. Regis Room) that was removed in the mid-1970s.

He died in Richland County, SC on Sept. 28, 1990.
