Erik Ploen

Erik Ploen (born 10 February 1925 - died 2004) was a Norwegian ceramist born in Gran in Hadeland.

He started as an apprentice in 1942 Schneider and Knutzen at Slemdal in Oslo. After the war he traveled among other Royal Copenhagen in Copenhagen and the University of Chicago.

Ploen his own workshop in Singapore in 1946. He later moved to Strange (1948-1957). After a time Ljan, where he became the first in the country had installed gas oven for ceramics (1964), he moved to Son in Vestby, where he was and work life.

He prepared for every personal style, where thickness, glaze and texture together did the work to a personal expression.
