Gabriel Portolés was born in Jaca in 1930 and at age 12 joined the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona. At 16 he began work without leaving his artistic inclination, oil painting and watercolors during their holidays.
Years later he returned to the School of Arts and Crafts for drawing classes. He learned after the technique of egg tempera on panel, which found the best vehicle for artistic expression. It has a unique style characterized by the use of geometric shapes, angles, mysterious women heads bowed, all of which reminds us of the windows of cathedrals.
He began his exhibition activity in 1960, showing since their creations in various parts of Spain, United States, Germany and France.
