Dan Rizzie's collages and works on paper, as well as his paintings, revolve around English botanical studies and celebrate the rhythm of nature. Certain symbols that recur in his work are flowers, ferns, stalks, and leaves. Rizzie’s work is instantly recognizable and meticulously worked.
Dan Rizzie's art has been exhibited for more than twenty-five years in cities such as Santa Fe, New Orleans, Houston, San Francisco, New York, Dallas, and a recent solo exhibition in Easthampton. His work can be seen in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Scottsdale Museum of Art, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and many prestigious corporate collections throughout the United States.
Rizzie has had solo exhibitions at Pillsbury & Peters Fine Art, TX, Kimbell Art Museum, TX and the Dallas Museum of Art, TX among a host of others. Selected group exhibitions include Printmaking in Texas Modern Art Museum, TX, Texas II, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, CA and The Brooklyn National, Brooklyn Museum, NY.
