Rose (1929 - )
Roslyn Rose was born in New
Jersey in 1929. She studied art at Rutgers University, Pratt
Institute, and Skidmore College, where she received her B.Sc.
Ms. Rose is known for her etchings and assemblages. Recently
she has concentrated on using the techniques of Emulsion Transfer
and Digital Prints to create Montages. These new mediums allows
her to incorporate images from her travels with studio photography.
Her prints, collages, montages, and assemblages are part of
the following permanent museum collections: Newark Museum, New
Jersey State Museum, Voorhees-Zimmerli Museum at Rutgers University,
Noyes Museum (study collection), Newark Library, Roddenberry
Memorial Library in Georgia and McAllen International Museum
and the Rosenberg Library in Texas.
Corporate collections include A T & T, Basking Ridge, NJ;
Citibank of NY, Moscow, Russia; PSE&G, Newark, NJ; Readers
Digest, Pleasantville, NY; and Nabisco Brands, Parsippany, NJ.
Roslyn Rose had a Solo Exhibition during April, 2003 at the
New Century Gallery in New York City. Part of her Homage Series
etchings were included in the 2003 exhibition at the Newark
Public Library honoring James McNeil Whistler. In 2004, Ms Rose's
art work has been included in exhibitions at the J. Wayne Stark
Galleries, Texas A & M University; Studio Seto, Boston,
M; New Century Artists' Gallery, NY,
NY; and, until the end of the year, is part of the "Traveling
the Carolinas"
exhibition of the National Association of Women Artists.
Recent Awards include Best-in-Show at the Mountain Art Show,
Bernardsville, NJ; Computer Art Award at National Association
of Women Artists Annual Exhibit, NYC; and The Directors' Award
at the Period Gallery, Omaha, NE.
