Israel Rubinstein (1944- )

Israel Rubinstein was born in 1944 in Petach-Tikvah Israel . Since his  early childhood Israel ’s father, who was a painter and a graphic artist, was aware of his son's talent. He sent the boy to various painting courses and introduced him to his artist friends, who helped the young Rubinstein arrange his first exhibition at the Emmanuel Hall of his hometown Rammat-Gan.

For 3 years Rubinstein studied at the Institute of Art in Tel-Aviv in which he gained an artistic experience and foundation that further developed his future career. In 1967 Rubinstein took part in a group exhibit of Israeli artists at the House of  Z.O.A. (Zionist Organization of America ) in Tel-Aviv. Thereafter, he left for a one-man exhibition in Louisville, Kentucky .
Rubinstein returned to Israel with new inspiration for a change in his thinking and style. The subject Ideas reflected in some of his paintings demonstrate the controversies of human nature in society, his devotion to music and love for the Jewish Religion. Hence, the style of art was particularly influenced by the well-known surrealistic movement in whose work he found similarities to his own.  His fruitful imagination and inborn sense of humor helped him incorporate the new endeavors into his art pieces. Not only was Rubinstein well rounded in the surrealistic style, he also searched and developed the Cubistic style to express the nature/nurture behavior of homo sapiens in modern society.
Rubinstein's techniques started to change as well. Instead of thick layers, he began making transparent ones. In addition, he created gentle and gradual shades. Currently, the artist sells and shows his work to art galleries, art Expos and private/corporate collectors located all over the world.
In 1985 Rubinstein settled down with his wife, Liat, in New York , where he found fertile soil for his artistic development.
