J. "Bill" Schultz
William J. "Bill" Schultz had been an artist and a teacher
of art for more than 65 years.He began painting at age 13 and
continued until his Army service in Europe during WWII. Following
this, Schultz enrolled in the prestigious Vesper George School
of Art in Boston where he graduated with high honors. Following
graduation he studied under a number of National Academicians
including Robert Brackman, Ivan Olinski, Jerry Farnsworth and
Martin C.Hoy. Schultz continued to paint in their impressionist
style. Schultz had founded and operated his own art school and
studio in Lenox, Massachusetts for many years. He moved to Vero
Beach, Florida where he again established his own school and studio.
Schultz was a founding Director of the American Impressionist
Society and an award winning Master of the Pastel Society of America.
His paintings and drawings have won numerous awards and his paintings
hang in several museums and in many private collections. Depictions
of his paintings have been illustrated in many art magazines including
"American Artist", "Artists of Florida", "Southwest
Profiles" and others.
Artist Schultz passed away unexpectadly on February 4, 2005.
Although he will be missed by his family, students and friends,
his art will survive forever.
