| SIXTEN
(Sixten Netzler) [1940 - ]
Born 1940 in Miami Florida, raised and
educated in Sweden where the family maintains a 16th century home
on a site occupied since the iron age. This environment plus a
degree in Anthropology stronlgy affects his works capturing a
vanishing america.
Few realize that this outstanding artist
is a complete self-taught painter who just a few years ago finished
fewer than a dozen paintings in his lifetime, yet today he is
increasingly being recognized as perhaps one of the best talents
in american realism.
"SIXTEN" is an ancient viking
word meaning "The Unique One", a term that applies as
much to his works as to the man.
