| Geovany
Torres (1980 - ) Cuenca, Ecuador
Torres’ portraits are influenced by the children of
the Ecuadorian working class. At the early age of 12, he showed
his artistic talents by painting portraits of families.
There is an imaginative immediacy about the work of Geovany
Torres that sets him apart from most of today’s artists.
He communicates an authenticity of sensation, a sense of the
moment of life. He not only creates representations of things
seen or imagined but goes on to dominate the literal qualities
of the image by the force of his emotional response and inventiveness.
His artistic power is in a dynamic synthesis that transforms
his subject into its maximum expressive potential.
He uses his portraits to capture the elusive, the emotional,
and the passionate portrayal of the inspired moment.
Exhibited:
Street Fairs and small shows.
Geovany has lived in New York since 1996 and continues to paint
for private clients.
