This gelatin silver print was created by American photographer Christopher Makos.

Makos is well known for his relationships with icons like Andy Warhol, Tennessee Williams, and John Lennon. Later in life, Warhol called Makos the most modern photographer in America. His signature bold photojournalistic style is on display in this print, which measures 11 x 14 inches. It is signed, stamped, and numbered 15/30 verso, and is in excellent condition.

About The Artist: Christopher Makos

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, Christopher Makos grew up in California before moving to Paris to study architecture and later, to work as an apprentice with Man Ray. Since the early '70's he has worked at developing a style of boldly graphic photojournalism. His photographs have been the subject of numerous exhibitions both in galleries and museums throughout the United States, Europe and Japan and have appeared in countless magazines and...

About The Medium: Gelatin Silver Print

The most common photographic printing process, introduced in the 1880s. These prints are made with silver halides suspended in a layer of gelatin on fibre based paper. They are developed using the three-bath chemistry of developer, stop, and fixer, and can be chemically toned to alter the finished look of the print.
