Joanne Miller Rafferty, a member of the National Association of Women Artists and listed in Who's Who in American Art, is an acclaimed contemporary artist known for her vibrant and emotive paintings that capture the essence of the natural world. With a career spanning over four decades, Rafferty has established herself as a leading figure in the art world, celebrated for her unique approach to color, texture and form. Rafferty's work is characterized by its bold use of color and dynamic compositions, which reflect her deep connections to both the physical and emotional landscapes she explores. Influenced by her background in Fine Arts with a Bachelors Degree in Art Education from Daemen University and another five years of extensive graduate work in Art Education from the State University of New York at Buffalo, her art delves into themes of introspection, transformation and the intricate interplay between nature and the human psyche. Using a varied collection of materials including acrylic, lacquer, handmade papers, metallics, gold and varied leafing, fabrics and modeling materials, her paintings have been described as a vibrant and textural experience by collectors and curators.

From a very early age she realized that art was her passion. She continues to create her work in her studio in Denville, New Jersey, the state where she was born and raised.

She has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the United States and internationally.
