about Medicine Man

Untitled (Cat) pastel drawing by Konstantin Bokov presents a whimsical contemporary folk art composition featuring a spotted cat musician seated on a stool with a guitar, rendered in vibrant black, white, red, yellow, brown, and green tones.

Created in 2017 and signed and dated by the artist, this 12 x 9 inch pastel on paper exemplifies Bokov's playful fusion of Pop Art, Contemporary Art, and Folk Art movements, where the four-eyed feline subject smiles while holding a musical instrument in a charming display of surreal storytelling. Bokov's distinctive style transforms everyday subjects into fantastical narratives, combining bold colors with folk art sensibilities to create accessible yet sophisticated contemporary works. This museum-quality piece offers collectors a delightful example of modern folk-inspired art that celebrates music, animals, and imaginative storytelling with warmth and humor.

About The Artist: Joe Geshick

Joe Geshick (Ojibwe - Mishakeebaneesh), who was an Ojibwe artist from The Bois Forte Band of Chippewa, lived in far northern Minnesota on the outskirts of the town of Ely, just 30 miles from the Canadian border. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
