About the artist:

I grew up in London but have lived in New Jersey, USA, since 2013. If I had to summarize my work in four words I’d say: computers, distillation, and humour;) Visually I have experimented extensively with the rude effects of pixelation and the noisy distortions of the screen-grab but a quieter thought process lies beneath the surface. Artist friends tease me with the moniker “Mr Pixel” and it’s true that I am slightly obsessed by the colorful grids that pixels provide, but beyond their instant gratification I like the way that these tiny units, when isolated or enlarged, can operate as emblems of our digital reality. If one of an artist’s jobs is to reflect the times in which they live then ‘the screen’ and its elements always seemed to me like a good place to start. My subjects, ranging from candy wrappers and emojis to haute couture and works of art reflect a fascination for the man-made and the everyday - the same kinds of things that preoccupied old favorites like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Ed Ruscha. My work takes the form of digital prints, sculpture, video, books, painting, and I even tried my hand at a few NFTs! I am represented by Benrubi Gallery in New York and am a founding member of the ABC Artists' Books Cooperative.
