about Patas de Rana

Patas de Rana by Los Carpinteros is a captivating contemporary lithograph that transforms everyday flippers into a surreal commentary on human adaptation and aquatic imagery.

This hand-signed print exemplifies the Cuban collective’s conceptual approach to Latin American art, merging playful visual elements with deeper philosophical undertones about transformation and utility. The piece showcases intricate detailing of feet morphing into swim fins, connected by pipe-like structures that challenge conventional perceptions of form and function. A distinctive addition to any contemporary art collection, this limited edition lithograph demonstrates Los Carpinteros’ innovative vision and technical mastery in printmaking.

About The Artist: Los Carpinteros

Los Carpinteros is a Cuban artist collective founded in Havana in 1992 by Marco Antonio Castillo Valdes, Dagoberto Rodriguez Sanchez, and Alexandre Arrechea (who left the group in 2003). About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
