about P.S.66

P.

S.66 colored ink woodprint by Ted Davies captures the vibrant energy of New York City school architecture and urban life in this striking 1962 Pop Art composition featuring bold red, brown, black, and white tones. This edition 23/52 woodprint, signed, titled, and numbered in pencil, measures 30 x 34 inches and depicts a cityscape scene with buildings, fences, flag, people, and trees that celebrate the architectural character of New York’s public schools. Davies’ masterful use of the woodcut medium creates strong graphic contrasts and dynamic compositions that exemplify the intersection of Pop Art, New York Art, and Architectural Art movements during the early 1960s. This museum-quality print offers collectors a rare example of mid-century American printmaking that documents and celebrates the urban landscape with both documentary precision and artistic vision.

About The Medium: Ink
