Part of a triptych, this rendering of Manhattan shows the uppermost area of the island of New York City.

Along the coasts of the city are large illustrations of plants native to the area. With the exception of the named streets, the map only shows the parks and other natural environments located in Manhattan. Each individual sheet measures 22 x 30 inches.

The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
