About The Artist: Alberto Magnelli

Italian Futurist painter. He studied Cubism in Paris in 1913 - 14 but later turned to abstraction, influenced by Pittura Metafisica. From 1933 he lived in Paris, painting abstracts and became a member of Abstraction-Creation. After the war he became prominent in the production of structured abstract painting with outlined geometrical forms, when Art informel was prevalent.
