About the artist:

Alyson Stoneman (born Alyson Hunter) is the foremost expert at the specialized photo etching technique. She was born in New Zealand along with her twin sister and famed artist and photographer, Alexis Hunter. Alyson matriculated to Auckland University and she later relocated to London in order to study at the prestigious Chelsea College of Art and the Royal College of Art. Along with her husband, Hugh Stoneman, she was a director of Islington Studios and Islington Graphics Gallery. She was also Master Printer at the New York Printmaking Workshop, and a visiting professor at the University of Davis, California. Alyson is best known for her unique print technique that juxtaposes etching and photography. Her artwork is very well regarded and is on display at the Museum of London, the British Government Art Collection and the National Portrait Gallery.
