About The Artist: Andres Segovia

Andres Segovia is known for his modern expressionist still life paintings. Segovia was the son of the noted classical guitarist of the same name. A 20th-century Argentinean artist, Andres Segovia first studied in Buenos Aires. He moved to Paris in the early 1950s to complete his studies in Europe, and by the mid-1950s his paintings and lithographs had been accepted into exhibitions throughout Europe, the United States, and Argentina. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
