"Cororeol" by Antoine Poncet (Swiss, 1928) is a highly polished bronze sculpture that evokes his mentor Jean Arp with whom he studied in the 1950's.

This modern sculpture has a free form that flows from the narrow base to the wide "hooped "top.

About The Artist: Antoine Poncet

Antoine Poncet was a French sculptor, born May 5, 1928, in Paris. Grandson of Maurice Denis and son of Marcel Poncet, Swiss painter and glassmaker Antoine Poncet discovered sculpture at the age of 14, first with Reymond in Lausanne, then Germaine Richier in Zurich (1942). He was a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lausanne from 1942 to 1945. A bursar of the French state, he returned to Paris where he settled permanently in 1948. He became a...
