About The Artist: Arnold Hoffmann Jr.

Mr. Hoffmann studied at the Art Students League and the National Academy of the Arts. In addition to exhibiting his own paintings at galleries in New York and on Long Island, he founded a silk-screen-print workshop in Springs, where he worked with such artists as James Brooks, Esteban Vicente and Robert Gwathmey and gave public lectures....

About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
