about Le Lai de la Lance

Translating to "The Lay of the Lance" this vibrant and brutal series of four lithographs accompanied by fragments of Viking poems, translated into French.

They tell the story of a king preparing for battle, as his attendants try to weave him strong enough garments and weld sharp enough lances to save him from death and the arms of the valkyries. This portfolio is 40 of 75.

About The Artist: Bengt Lindström

Bengt Karl Erik Lindström was a Swedish artist. Lindström was one of Sweden's best known contemporary artists with a characteristic style of distinct colors, often including contorted faces. He had two children, Mariana and Alexandre. In 2003, Lindström became disabled due to a stroke and he became unable to paint. About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
