About the artist:

Bob Thaves studied psychology at the University of Minnesota. He worked for a while as consultant in industrial psychology, at the same time developing the newspaper comic strip 'Frank & Ernest'. This popular innovative strip was syndicated in 1972, and has been distributed to 1,300 newspapers worldwide by Newspaper Enterprise Association 'Frank & Ernest' has been collected in several albums, such as 'I Feel a Pun Coming On!' (1991), 'The Frank and Ernest Manager' (1991), 'Frank and Ernest Career Advice: How To Make Your Job Work For You' (1990), 'Are We There Yet? A Frank and Ernest History of the World' (1988), and 'Batteries Not Included' (1983). Bob Thaves died in August 2006. 'Frank and Ernest' is continued by his son Tom, who worked with his father since 1997. He introduced Frank & Ernest to his family as an idea for an idea for a comic strip during a family dinner many years ago. Bob at a drawing board had been part of his family life before this as he had drawn magazine cartoons in addition to his work as an industrial psychologist. While other husbands and fathers golfed or gardened, he drew. So, we welcomed Frank & Ernest from the very beginning and they have been the source of many wonderful moments for our family.
