American (1864–1926)
This bronze sculpture by the renowned American Western artists C.
M. Russell depicts a stagecoach pulled by six powerful stallions and reigned by two drivers, rushing across a rocky terrain. Russell pulled from his personal experience as a cowboy to influence his art, which spanned from illustrations and paintings to sculptures and even stories. His experiences as a rancher in Montana in the late 1800s were the perfect inspiration for a lifetime of artwork depicting the glory days of the American West. This sculpture sits atop a marble base and there is a signature stamped in the bronze as well as a brass nameplate bearing the title of the work and the artist's name.
