about Column Study 2 from Capital Ideas Portfolio

Experience the psychedelic beauty of "Column Study 2 from Capital Ideas Portfolio" by Clayton Pond, an original screenprint that captures the ornate architectural details of SoHo’s cast iron facades through Pop Art and Psychedelic Art sensibilities.

This vibrant work from the celebrated Capital Ideas series showcases Pond’s distinctive approach to architectural subjects, where rainbow-hued color gradients and bold graphic design transform classical column capitals into mesmerizing visual celebrations of New York’s historic architecture. The artist’s masterful handling of the screenprint medium creates rich, saturated colors and graphic clarity that elevate these SoHo architectural elements into iconic Pop Art statements. A distinguished addition to any collection focused on Pop Art, Psychedelic Art, architectural subjects, or works that celebrate the intersection of historic preservation and contemporary artistic vision by this accomplished American artist.

About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
