About The Artist: E. Salem Krieger

Krieger studied cartooning at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art, a school renowned for it's illustrious alumni the included Walt Disney. Krieger also attended the Art Institute of Chicago which continues to share a number of the same attitudes initially established the same attitudes initially established in the 60's by the Hairy Who and W.C. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
