About The Artist: Elizabeth Franzheim

Elizabeth Franzheim was born in Chicago in 1923. At Age thirteen she began working with the noted portrait painter Wayman Adams and continued her art studies at the Corcoran Academy and Yale University. In the 1950's she moved to Houston, Texas, where she painted work for the interior of many private and public buildings, collaborating at times with the american artist Rufino Tamayo and others.
