About the artist:

Elizabeth J. Horning was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1943. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1965. As a student, Elizabeth was on the Dean's List and European Honors Program, and received a Royal Bailey Farnum scholarship and Ford and Carnegie Foundation grants. She began her art career as a teacher, implementing an art program in three elementary schools in Franklin, New Hampshire. She left teaching to move to Arizona in 1973 where she has since lived and worked as an artist. Elizabeth has used her talent in many different capacities, working as an illustrator and commercial artist, art director and designer. She has been active in Artist's Leagues and has been represented in galleries in Arizona. During her career, she has continued to study art and take classes and has gained a great technical proficiency in her craft. This is evident when one sees her stunning landscapes, still lifes and florals.
