About The Artist: Gerald Fairclough

Gerald Fairclough has been a professional artist for 21 years. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and then moved to New York to attend the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League. Currently, Fairclough works from his own studio in Salt Lake City and paints figures, landscape, abstract, and still life. About The Medium: Pastel

An art medium in the form of a stick, consisting of pure powdered pigment and a binder. The pigments used in pastels are the same as those used to produce all colored art media, including oil paints; the binder is of a neutral hue and low saturation.
