about Yellow Spring

Gleaming with light, the flowers in this Helen Covensky print are representative of the regrowth and vibrancy that occurs in nature during springtime.

Suspended between vines and leaves, the flowers are asymmetrical and appear to fade at the edges, but their vibrancy signals their strength and endurance.

Mrs. Covensky was born Hanka Ciesla on July 27, 1925, in Kielce, Poland. She grew up in Sosnowiec, a city west of Krakow. About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
