About The Artist: Hiro Yamagata

Originally from Miabara, Japan, Hiro Yamagata has achieved amazing success world wide for his contemporary art. He began his artistic studies in 1972 at L’ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. Upon completing his education, he had his first European tour throughout Austria, the United Kingdom, Italy; and Germany. In 1978 Hiro moved to Los Angeles, California. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
