Facing away from the viewer, Jan De Ruth's portrait of a nude woman holding her hair as she stands behind a folding screen is filled with intrigue and elegance.

While robes hang off of the screen and lay across the floor, the woman stands with her feet apart and shamelessly leans back as she pulls her hair into a ponytail, seemingly either unaware or indifferent to the viewer's presence.
