Jean-Michel Folon (March 1, 1934 – October 20, 2005) was a Belgian artist, illustrator, painter, and sculptor. Folon was born on March 1, 1934 in Uccle, Brussels, Belgium in 1934. He studied architecture at the Institut Saint-Luc. The first exhibition of his watercolors was in New York in 1969 in the Lefebre Gallery. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
