Poster produced by Spanish artist Joan Miro in support of the human rights movement by UNESCO.

Joan Miró had a long collaboration with UNESCO and created this poster for their human rights campaign, in collaboration with the Parisian printing house Arte. The year 1978 also marked the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, one of the great achievements of the United Nations.

About The Artist: Joan Miro

Joan Miró Ferra was born April 20, 1893, in Barcelona. At the age of 14, he went to business school in Barcelona and also attended La Lonja’s Escuela Superior de Artes Industriales y Bellas Artes in the same city. Upon completing three years of art studies, he took a position as a clerk. After suffering a nervous breakdown, he abandoned business and resumed his art studies, attending Francesc Galí’s Escola d’Art...
