About the artist:

Julien Celos was born in Antwerp, Belgium in 1884. He was a painter and watercolorist of urban views and interiors. He studied at the Antwerp Academy of Fine Arts under the tutelage of the famed master teacher and artist, Franz Courtens. Celos exhibited at the important venues in Belgium as well as at the Brussels World Fair in 1910 and the "Salon des Artistes Independants" in Paris in 1912. He worked on motifs of historic villages and cities of Belgium and Holland. He traveled and painted as well in France, England and Tunisia. He was inspired by city of Bruges and painted images of its picturesque streets. Julien Celos was a member of the important Flemish group, "Cercle Als Ik Kans" in Antwerp.
